New York, NY – Today, Brooklyn-based design and manufacturing company Roll & Hill unveiled the Moonrise collection, a series of lights designed by Lara Bohinc. This is Roll & Hill’s first collaboration with Lara Bohinc and Moonrise is her first foray into lighting design collaborations.
The Moonrise collection was inspired by different phases of the Moon, with round and half round shapes composed in playful composition which are seen differently from every angle, just as we see changing Moon shapes within its cycle. It includes three pieces – two sconces and one chandelier - which range in price from $1,100 to $15,625. Each piece is available in brushed brass or black anodized aluminium, 120v or 240v.
Lara’s fascination with contradiction, deconstruction and reconfiguration of forms informed the design: bold yet light, graphic yet fluid, geometric yet feminine. The pieces are constructed using intricately machined aluminium that creates both the structure and the design.
“Lighting is like jewelry for the room – it brings sparkle, life and joy to any space. Lights are accents that determine the mood. The room is never complete without lighting,” Bohinc says.
Moonrise is currently featured in The New York Times and Wallpaper*.
