FALLEN EMPIRE
Launched during Milan Design Week 2025, Fallen Empire pays homage to the forgotten fragments of lost civilizations, brought to life through Bohinc’s distinctive vision of material and form.
The collection draws inspiration from the delicate beauty of stone structures in ruins that have withstood the passage of time. “The Fallen Empire collection is a reflection on the ruins of once-great civilizations, on the splendor of stone, and the inevitability of decay,” says Lara Bohinc. “It’s about recognizing that all empires fall, but their remnants endure symbols of a distant past that continue to speak across the ages. By blending the ancient with the modern, I aimed to create pieces that evoke both the strength and fragility of time.
Composed of four bold, sculptural pieces: a round coffee table, a side table, a console, and a dining table, Fallen Empire embodies Bohinc’s signature design aesthetic. Each piece embodies Bohinc’s signature design aesthetic, combining jagged, irregular edges reminiscent of ancient architectural ruins with geometric elements inspired by arches and windows. This interplay suggests the quiet resilience of a bygone era while maintaining a distinctly modern sensibility.
The collection is crafted using a curated selection of marbles including Verde Alpi, Rosa Peralba, Verde Levanto, Lava Stone, Verde Ancestrale, Rosa Deserto, Breccia Tavira, and Travertine Romano. Handcrafted in Serafini’s Italian workshop, every piece reflects the perfect balance of advanced cutting technologies and the artisanal expertise of skilled craftsmen. This meticulous process transforms marble into timeless sculptures, celebrating its natural beauty while merging the elegance of the past with the precision of modern design.
