Lara Bohinc announces the opening of her brand new west London showroom dedicated to her furniture company, Bohinc Studio. Founded last year, the showroom will be the company’s main by-appointment space and will be located at 59 Kensington Gardens Square, just off from Westbourne Grove in Notting Hill. The showroom is set in a unique Grade 2 listed townhouse, with original Victorian century features complete with an entire marble floor echoing her architectural designs. The showroom houses the brand’s assorted collection of marble tables, lighting and interior accessories.
Bohinc’s first furniture piece was the Solaris Kinetic Table, made in collaboration with Lapicida for Wallpaper’s “Handmade” exhibition in 2014. The iconic rotating table saw Bohinc translating her skills and aspirations as a jewellery designer into the world of luxury furniture, and the success of this piece resulted in two further collections of marble furniture and interior accessories. Bohinc has also collaborated with Swedish company Skultuna for her bestselling range of brass candleholders and desktop accessories. She produced a range of ceramic vases and geometric lighting for Bohinc Studio that was launched during Salone del Mobile in April 2017. With the belief and passion in the universality of good design, each individual piece is inspired by Bohinc’s roots in industrial design, jewellery and metal work, seeing the pieces as “jewellery for the house”.
